The successful launch of the Sekondi Education Fund generated GH₵400,000 in total funds received, including an initial deposit and seed contribution from Hon. Blay Nyameke Armah, towards the Fund's long-term GH₵5 million seed-fund target.
The successful launch of the Sekondi Education Fund marked an important beginning in our collective effort to establish a sustainable education support fund for the people of Sekondi.
Following the launch, the Fund received GH₵30,800 in direct contributions. An additional GH₵28,200 was pledged. Together, these amounts brought the combined launch figure to GH₵59,000. The GH₵28,200 remained a pledge at that time; it had not yet been received.
Prior to this, an initial deposit of GH₵341,000 had been made into the Fund. That deposit included a GH₵100,000 seed contribution from me, Hon. Blay Nyameke Armah, Member of Parliament for Sekondi.
With these contributions, the total funds received by the Sekondi Education Fund stood at:
- GH₵400,000
This represents an important first step towards our long-term goal of establishing a seed fund to support the educational needs of constituents:
- GH₵5,000,000
At the time of the launch, it was our expectation and target that the GH₵5 million seed fund would be achieved by the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year.
I therefore encourage individuals, businesses, organisations, philanthropists and all well-meaning people who share our commitment to education to support the Sekondi Education Fund with donations.
Every contribution, regardless of its size, can help strengthen the Fund and enable us to provide meaningful educational support to students and families who need it most.
Together, we can build a sustainable education fund that creates opportunities for the people of Sekondi.
