SEF Holds First Education Stakeholder Meeting to Strengthen Student Support

The Sekondi Education Fund held its first management and education stakeholder meeting on Monday, 7 July 2025, as part of efforts to establish a transparent and effective process for identifying students who merit support from the Fund.

The meeting focused on the modalities for selecting students who demonstrate academic potential and face financial need. Following discussions, it was agreed that Heads of Junior High Schools within the Sekondi Constituency would play a key role in identifying and recommending students who meet the Fund's support criteria.

For the 2025/2026 academic year, the Sekondi Education Fund planned to support 140 first-year Senior High School students from the Sekondi Constituency.

The planned support was to benefit:

• 60 boarding students
• 80 day students

The beneficiaries were to be brilliant but financially disadvantaged students who met the Fund's eligibility requirements.

The meeting brought together education leaders and representatives involved in supporting education across the constituency.

2. 2.Headteacher of St. Ann's JHS, Vice Circuit Head
3. 3.Headteacher of Gethsamane JHS, Adiembra Circuit Head
4. 4.Headteacher of Holy Child Practice, Secretary, Adiembra Circuit
5. 5.Circuit Supervisors from Adiembra and Sekondi
6. 6.Representatives of the Sekondi Education Fund Management

The meeting marked an important early step in establishing a coordinated approach to identifying deserving students and ensuring that education support reaches students who need it most.

The Sekondi Education Fund remains committed to improving access to education and reducing financial barriers that can prevent young people from continuing their education.
